The 2022 MLS Season stats in just over a month and teams are already starting their preseason work, but that doesn’t stop them from keep adding players in their search of becoming the next MLS Champion, something Inter Miami CF is trying to do, as they made official the signing of Emerson Rodríguez.

The 21-year-old right midfielder joins Miami in a 4-year deal with an option to extend his contract a year more, which means he’ll be tied to the Herons at least until 2025. His acquisition from Colombian Millonarios FC was on a permanent move worth $2.7 million.

Rodríguez debuted in Colombian league in the 2019-20 season, and has impressed everyone in Inter Miami, as Sporting Director Chris Henderson said: “Emerson is an exciting, dynamic young talent that we are excited to welcome to Inter Miami. His quality reinforces our team’s attack to help us achieve our goals this upcoming season.”

Emerson Rodríguez numbers with Millonarios

Rodríguez was part of Millonarios Academy team until he was loaned to second division Valledúpar FC for six months. With Los Millos, Rodríguez has played a total of 55 games, where he’s been able to score a total of 8 goals and the same number of assistances.
