Are Wolves missing Leo Campana? He’s done more in nine games than all of Wolves strikers

The apparition of Campana in the MLS completely changed the face of a team that hadn’t been able to compete during their first two seasons in the Major League Soccer, as they haven’t been able to succeed even with players like Gonzalo Higuaín or Rodolfo Pizarro.

Prior the 2022 MLS Season, Inter Miami hadn’t found a striker that could consistently score, as Higuaín was the closest that they’ve had to a top scorer last season, when he found the net 12 times in 20 games that he played.

But now with Campana as their starting striker, even David Beckham is in awe due to his outstanding performances and the ease he has to score, something that is making him become the idol that the Herons needed.

He’s scored five goals in the last four games

For Leo Campana, Inter Miami is also the team he was looking for to finally exploit his conditions and talent, as neither in Wolverhampton Wanderers, club that owns his economic rights, FC Famalicão nor Grashopper CZ, had the regularity he now has in the MLS.

That regularity added to the trust that Phil Neville has in him, has made him become one of the most confident players on the pitch, as he’s scored five goals in the last four games that Miami has played, including a hat trick against New England Revolution.

He also scored against Miami FC on the US Open Cup and then once again against Atlanta United as well as assisting Bryce Duke, where his goal stood out and was named the Goal of the Week according to the MLS. His performances have made Inter earn six points that now have them fighting for a place in the playoffs.

Man of the Match and Team of the Week

As if that wasn’t enough, Campana is consolidating as one of the top players in the entire MLS, as he was named Man of the Match in the game against ATL UTD, and then he made it into the Team of the Week. If he keeps up the good work, he’ll sure be called to the MLS All-Star game.
