Gerardo “Tata” Martino understood that he needs to call the best players available and not the ones he considers the most experienced, as last year results left El Tri without international championships and with doubts about their participation in 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be played in Qatar.

Who will Martino call again to play for Mexico National Team?

According to reports, Martino is considering calling again PSV midfielder Erick Gutiérrez, KRC Genk left-back Gerardo Arteaga and even Tigres center back Carlos Salcedo, although the latter will only be part of the squad if Monterrey players can’t assist due to their appearance in FIFA Club World Cup.
