It's official, Carlos Vela will not be part of Qatar 2022 and all because Martino says so. The Argentine coach spoke to several media during the Mexican national team's training camp and stated that the LAFC player will not be called up.
According to Martino himself, it is a decision that was established between both parties since Vela apparently told him a few years ago that he did not want to be part of the process. However, Martino did not contact him again some time later and now he is simply leaving him aside.
