This player decided to quit Mexico National Team because Martino keeps calling Héctor Herrera
Héctor Herrera was erased from Atlético Madrid by Diego Simeone.
Although Héctor Herrera hasn’t been a regular with Atlético Madrid this season and has lost his shape as he doesn’t have playing time, Gerardo “Tata” Martino insists on calling him to every Mexico National Team game just because he’s in Europe.

Not even now, when El Tri is on the brink of elimination, Martino stopped calling him or some other of his favorites to give younger players a chance to demonstrate why they’re called to be the future of Mexico National Team.
That’s why Benjamín Galdames has considered quitting playing for El Tri, as he can also defend Chile National Team. He knows that, as long as Martino is coaching El Tri, he has little to no possibility of debuting for Mexico.

Who is Benjamín Galdames?
He was born in Mexico City while his father, Pablo Galdames, was playing in Liga MX. So far, he’s played his entire career in Chile, but he’s been open about wanting to play for Mexico National Team. With only 20 years, he’s one of Mexico’s best prospects, but he could end up leaving if La Roja offers him better opportunities or even money.
