Mexico National Team hasn’t yet secured their ticket to the next FIFA World Cup, but they already lost one of their players for the tournament to be played in Qatar at the end of the year, and all because he didn’t know how to keep his mouth shut.

According to reports, after CF Monterrey arrived in Mexico from their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, Rogelio Funes Mori had to pay a fee for overweight baggage, as he had a surplus of luxury items the striker bought in the United Arab Emirates.

The Mexican Argentinean proceeded to argue with the customs agent and then insulted Mexico, saying that it was the worst country, which now has earned him backlash on social media given that he wasn’t even born in Mexico and decided to get the citizenship just to play with El Tri.

 

Rogelio Funes Mori’s numbers with El Tri?

After Funes Mori arrived in Monterrey in 2015, he had to wait at least five years living in the country in order to request the Mexican citizenship. Since his debut in July of 2021, he’s played 13 games wearing El Tri colors, in which he has scored five goals.
