After the results Mexico National Team had last year, when they lost three straight games against USMNT and fell positions in FIFA World Rankings -from 9 to 14-, people questioned the decisions made by Gerardo “Tata” Martino as El Tri coach.

Not only that, El Tri also couldn’t win any CONCACAF tournaments, as they lost both Nations League and Gold Cup. For the upcoming FIFA match window, most questions remain unanswered, as Martino decided to call his favorite players, even if they weren’t the best available.
But reports suggest that after the 2-1 loss against Canada National Team, Martino decided to resign from his position as El Tri manager, and although most of the players backed him up, a small group inside El Tri camp thinks that they’d be better without him.

According to reports, one of the players that already had issues with Martino’s decisions after he vetoed Carlos Salcedo from any further callings, is Hirving Lozano. The newly arrived in La Liga, Jesús Manuel “Tecatito” Hernández and Héctor Herrera are also on board with the idea of having a new coach.
