After Miguel Herrera declined arriving in El Tri, everything pointed out to Jaime Lozano, who was up to the challenge and ready to resume his career within El Tri structure after winning the Bronze Medal in Tokyo Olympics.

But after learning that he wouldn’t have enough freedom to build the roster according to his expectations, Lozano decided to step down and continue his coaching career with Necaxa, even if the club is in a tight spot, as they only have 3 points in Clausura 2022.

Why wasn’t he going to be able to build his roster as he pleased?

In the current roster of El Tri, there’s players that were imposed by Televisa and other sponsors, and if Lozano was to take over the final stretch of the 2022 cycle, he would have to accept the same impositions, something he didn’t agree with.
