There have been numerous attempts to replace Guillermo Ochoa as the goalie for the Mexican national team, but no one has succeeded in unseating the player who is under contract with “Las Águilas” from Club América.

The player's career, however, was unintentionally cut short by Guillermo Ochoa due to his excellent performance, which meant that no matter how many goalkeepers were tried, none were able to match Memo's abilities or furthermore, displace him from the position.

The news is regarding the 2013 Youth World Cup former player and El Tri's goalkeeping coach Alberto Gurrola Castro, according to an FMF news release. The goalkeeper had a chance to challenge Ochoa, but Memo cut his playing time short; he afterwards turned to coaching goalies.

What what Gurrola Castro's current role in the Mexican National Team

The former goalkeeper made the decision to retire from professional soccer and went on to coach goalies until his untimely demise at the age of 29.
