Mexico National Team has yet to face the last World Cup Qualifiers match window before knowing if they’ll access directly to Qatar 2022 or have to wait until June, when the playoff berth will be played, to finally get their ticket.

Larcamón could be the perfect fit for El Tri, but Guardado doesn’t like him

But given that El Tri will likely have their ticket either as second or third in CONCACAF, depending on the result against USMNT, FMF already started looking for preparation games prior the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as they’ll most surely face Venezuela in April and Argentina and Brazil either in May or August.

Brazil National Team currently is first in CONMEBOL Qualifiers and already secured their spot in Qatar, but that won’t stop them from playing against El Tri with their best players on the pitch, which means Neymar will be part of the game that could mean the end of Gerardo “Tata” Martino in El Tri.

Why will Martino leave El Tri after the game against Brazil?

Given the most recent performances of Mexico National Team, it’s clear that they don’t have the needed level to face a top National Team like Brazil, which is why, if they end up losing that game, FMF will finally decide to end their relationship with Martino.

But that doesn’t mean that El Tri will de left adrift, as it happened during the cycle of 2014. In FMF they are already looking for a replacement and, so far, their favorite is Miguel Herrera, as he already knows what it means to arrive in El Tri at the last minute.

What’s in store for Mexico National Team?

Gerardo Martino and his squad will receive US Soccer MNT in Estadio Azteca on March 24 on what will be the toughest game of the last CONCACAF Qualifiers match window. On March 27 they’ll visit Estadio Metropolitano, a pitch that historically has been complicated for them, although Honduras currently is having one of their worst participations in recent years.

Mexico National Team will end their road to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Estadio Azteca on March 30, when they’ll receive El Salvador MNT, team that must win their 3 games and hope that Panamá and Costa Rica don’t earn a single point to be able to access the playoffs.
