With only three games left on the season and no chances of winning the Scudetto, Napoli is already planning what will be the 2022-23 season for them, as they know they need to make some changes in the roster to compete for Serie A title next year.

Among those changes, the selling of Hirving “Chucky” Lozano is one that stands out the most given the lack of trust that Luciano Spalletti has on the Mexican right-winger, as Napoli even already signed the player that will be his replacement: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Not even the departure of Lorenzo Insigne to MLS side Toronto FC has opened the possibility of him staying in Napoli, as they know that he won’t have a starting role ensured for next season and the chances will be in favor of Kvaratskhelia.

Although he’s already been followed by a few Premier League teams like Liverpool FC or Wolverhampton Wanderers, Lozano has stated in the past that he wishes to remain in Napoli given that his family already acclimated to the city, but it seems that Spalletti is looking to make him leave no matter what.

He’s not the only Latin American that Napoli will sell

Along Hirving Lozano, there’s only two other Latin American players in Napoli’s roster: goalkeeper David Ospina and center back Juan Jesús, as the Azzurri have been slowly parting ways with the Latinos on their roster.

Since their arrival at Napoli, both Lozano and Ospina joined the Azzurri in 2019, Ospina has become one of Lozano’s closest friends on the roster, as they share similar roots and the same language, but now, Napoli is considering parting ways with Ospina, leaving Lozano without his biggest support on the locker room.

According to Italian sports journalist Carlo Alvino, the Azzurri are interested in Atalanta goalkeeper Juan Musso, as they’re trying to have a younger roster for the 2022-23 season, something that Ospina doesn’t help with.

Will Lozano end up leaving Napoli?

Although he still has three more games to prove why they should consider him to be the successor of Lorenzo Insigne, if a good offer from Liverpool arrives, Lozano could be on the move to one of the biggest clubs in the world.
