Miguel Herrera wanted $2 million to arrive in El Tri, but this coach is not interested in the money

Mexico National Team and Gerardo Martino have almost two months to build the best roster available in order to face the next FIFA match window, where El Tri will face USMNT for the first time in the year. They’ll also visit Honduras and will close the CONCACAF Qualifiers against El Salvador in Estadio Azteca.

And even if Gerardo “Tata” Martino managed to stay in El Tri’s bench at least until those games are played, the truth is that their recent results have raised a lot of questions about his continuity, given that El Tri have seen diminished their performances as “Tata” Martino’s cycle moves further.
In case that El Tri loses a game in March, especially the one against USMNT, Mexican Football Federation are already looking for someone to replace him, and although Miguel Herrera was their top choice, FMF is aware that they won’t pay $2 million per year to another coach.
Who could arrive in El Tri’s bench if it’s not Herrera?
Although recent reports have linked Jaime Lozano to Liga MX side Necaxa, the truth is that in FMF they’re closely monitoring the Mexican coach, as they know of the potential he has and how much he could improve El Tri. Reports suggest that Lozano would accept a salary of just $250,000.
