Mexico National Team will face USMNT, Honduras and El Salvador in the last World Cup Qualifiers match window, looking to ensure their arrival in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, something they haven’t yet been able to do as they lost back-to-back games against the Stars and Stripes and Canada MNT.

The reason why Héctor Herrera underperforms in Mexico National Team

Both USMNT and El Tri need 4 more points to guarantee their presence in Qatar 2022, as the 25-point mark enables the teams to secure their spot in the international tournament, which is why the game of Thursday night is vital for the aspirations of both nations.

But if the Mexican squad doesn’t manage to beat the Stars and Stripes, they already know that they don’t have to worry much, as another team that will face them in the current match window already agreed to help them arrive in Qatar.

Who is the team that will help El Tri?

Reports arose a few weeks ago but when El Salvador MNT announced their list to face the last CONCACAF Qualifiers match window, it was confirmed that they won’t have the usual starters on their roster, as they refused to play with La Selecta.

Why did they refuse to play with their national team?

At least 10 Salvadorian players requested to not be included in the final roster given how tense the relationship with the Salvadorian Football Federation currently is, after they threatened of losing the game against Canada on the past FIFA match window.

On February they declared that FesFut didn’t fulfill their promises of giving the players a prize for reaching the last stage of the CONCACAF Qualifiers, which is why they will face the last three games mainly with players from the U-20 and U-23 squads.
