Martino already has plans to call a new foreigner to Mexico National Team
After debuting Rogelio Funes Mori, Tata Martino is looking to add another striker.
One of the weakest spots in Mexico National Team squad is on the offensive side, as currently it seems that, besides Raúl Jiménez, there’s no other striker that can help El Tri score goals. Martino has tried a different number of players, but he’s still looking for the perfect complement for Raúl.
So far, Rogelio Funes Mori, Henry Martin and Santiago Giménez are on the race to cover that spot, but now Gerardo “Tata” Martino is looking to add a new striker to the mix. With his addition, there will now be another naturalized Mexican in El Tri.
Julio Furch has strongly made his case to defend Mexico National Team, as he’s played for six years in Liga MX, year after year showing solid performances and even becoming two-time champion in Liga MX, one time with Santos Laguna and the other with Atlas.
When could he join Mexico National Team?
Unfortunately for both Martino and Furch, he won’t be able to be part of El Tri in the upcoming FIFA Qualifiers, as he’ll receive his citizenship in February, just after the games are disputed, but he could be part of Martino’s squad in the games to be held in March.
