Mexico National Team will face Panama on Estadio Azteca for the last game of the World Cup Qualifiers match window, waiting to win the game, as it will keep them on the spots to access directly the 2022 FIFA World Cup. If they don’t win, they might have to face the playoffs in June.

Gerardo Martino finds new excuses for El Tri’s performances

Gerardo “Tata” Martino is facing the most crucial game of his career as El Tri coach, as a win will secure his place in the Aztecs bench at least until the next FIFA match window. But a tie or a defeat, will most likely end his stint with Mexico.

And although rumors suggest that FMF is already looking for a replacement, providing even the names of coaches like Miguel Herrera or Ricardo Ferretti, Luis García didn’t hold back and exposed the reason why he still is coach of El Tri.

Why FMF hasn’t fired Gerardo Martino yet?

According to García, Televisa is pushing for his maintenance on the Aztec bench, as they believe he’s the answer Mexico needs to finally play a fifth game in a World Cup. Televisa is even negotiating the renewal of the Argentinian coach, who currently earns $2.2 million per year.
