Raúl Jiménez scored his 29th goal with the Mexican national team, where does he rank in history?

Now, the Mexican national team will have to wait until Friday to know who are going to be the teams that they’ll face in Qatar 2022, as they try to avoid playing teams Brazil, Argentina, Portugal or even Spain, who all are placed in the Pot 1.

But the ticket to Qatar doesn’t erase the weaknesses that El Tri has showed in the last year, as they haven’t been able to score on a regular basis. Before the game against El Salvador, the Aztec squad had only scored twice in the last four games.

That problem could be easily solved if Gerardo “Tata” Martino called Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, as he’s one of the best active strikers in MLS, but he decided to erase him from El Tri since 2019, although reports suggest that he overlooks the attitudes of some of the players in the current roster.

Edson Álvarez is turning into a diva in the locker room

According to reports from W Deportes, the defensive midfielder of Ajax knows that he’s called to be the next captain of El Tri given that he already played a World Cup with the Aztec squad and has become one of the most solid players in El Tri.

But the fact that he’s labeled to replace Guardado for the 2026 World Cup has gone to his head and is becoming a difficult player to have in the locker room, especially for the people that have criticized his performances and El Tri’s results.

His attitude was manifested during the celebration of his goal against Honduras, which meant the victory for the Aztec squad, as he covered his ears as if he was ignoring all the outside noise made by the followers and the journalists.

Is Álvarez having problems with other players?

Álvarez is known for having a strong character, which often involves him in discussions with his teammates, and he even confessed during an interview that he had a talk with all the players during the halftime of the game against Honduras, as they weren’t having a performance worthy of a World Cup team.
