Jaime Lozano was one of the profiles best positioned to take the reins of the Mexican team. With the process that performed very well in the last Olympic Games, it seemed that "Jimmy" was the heir apparent to the position of head coach of the Mexican team. However, Gerardo Martino had him removed from his position.

According to ESPN, Jaime Lozano had requested to be Gerardo Martino's assistant in order to be closer to the Mexican team and work hand in hand in a solid project, gathering experience. However, the Argentinean coach flatly refused and he had to be removed from the selection process.

More on Mexican national team:

He is better than Chicharito and Jimenez combined, but he would be banned from the World Cup all because of the drinking

Ferretti burned him, he was going to be Tri's 10, Barcelona wanted him, now he has no job

Since then, Lozano has dedicated himself to coaching in Liga MX. In an interview with ESPN, the tactician referred to Martino's problems with Carlos Vela and pointed out one of the main reasons why Martino does not want to count on one of the best Mexican players today.

Why is Carlos Vela not called up?

The former Olympic coach assured that the issue of Vela and Martino is because the latter does not forgive any kind of snub. That is to say, he wants things to be his way and Vela's constant refusal and conditions tend to wear out the Argentine's patience. El Tata will simply never call him.
