Marcelo Flores, Mexico U20 international, received his first call-up to Arsenal's first team, according to information provided by his father, Rubén Flores, on his social networks.

This Monday the Gunners will visit Crystal Palace in a Premier League match, so he was requested by coach Mikel Arteta, a situation that filled Rubén with pride, who did not hesitate to share it on his social networks. 

"Very proud and excited about Marcelo Flores' first call-up to the Arsenal first team. Good luck son you have been preparing all your life for moments like this," it reads. 

Should he play some minutes, it would be the first-team debut for the striker, who was born in Georgetown, Canada, but also holds Mexican and British nationality. 

Marcelo wants to go to Qatar 

Although Gerardo Martino has asked for restraint regarding the process of Marcelo Flores, the player wants to continue making great strides, so he will seek to sneak into the final list for the World Cup to be held between November and December in Qatar.  

Although the coach has almost defined his squad, Flores has time to convince and get into the final stretch in the list, this while in Canada they follow him closely and waiting for him to decide to defend that nation.
