When Javier “Chicharito” Hernández left Chivas in 2010, he did it as one of the best Mexican players in Liga MX that season, and he even won the golden boot, as he tied with Hérculez Gómez, from Club Puebla, and Johan Fano, from Atlante, with 10 goals.

In the four seasons that “Chicharito” Hernández played for Manchester United, he played a total of 157 games for the Red Devils, in which he scored 59 goals and assisted on 20 occasions before leaving Premier League to join Real Madrid.

It’s true that any Mexican player that arrives in a European club boosts the brand of said club, as not only Mexican followers make an appearance in social media, but also tend to lift the sales of jerseys and memorabilia, which is what happened with Hernández during his stint in Manchester.

That’s why the Red Devils are looking to add a new Mexican to their squad, as they know the advantages of having a fanbase in the North American country, but also because the potential of Mexican players hasn’t been exploded yet in the European market, mainly because of the elevated market value that Liga MX places on their youngster.
