Gerardo “Tata” Martino’s future with Mexico National Team is still hanging by a thread after the 2-1 victory against Jamaica, as he still needs to win the next two games to maintain El Tri on the top spots of CONCACAF Qualifiers.
Can Jaime Lozano be the next Mexico National Team coach?
The games against Costa Rica and Panama to be played in Estadio Azteca are vital to his continuity as El Tri coach, not only because El Tri will be local and the pressure is much higher in Mexico, as the team can’t lose points in home turf, but because with the right combination, Mexico could regain the first stand.
But if Martino and El Tri fail to achieve it, Mexican Football Federation already has three names in mind that can replace Martino, starting with Miguel Herrera, who Yon de Luisa knows well as they were both part of Club América at the same time.
Although he’s said in the past that El Tri is not on his radar, the truth is that Ricardo Ferretti still needs a challenge like Mexico National Team on his resumé. The third coach on the mix is Guillermo Almada, who currently coaches CF Pachuca but knows Liga MX as he coached Santos Laguna for two years.
Carlos Vela can make his return to El Tri, but this woman must convince him first
