Although for now “Chucky” is currently recovering from a shoulder surgery that he got done to prevent further injuries once the 2022-23 season starts and arrives at a top level to Qatar 2022, his future in Serie A is still uncertain.

According to reports from sports journalist Fabio Mandarini from Tribuna Sport, Lozano has requested to Aurelio di Laurentiis news about a contract extension, as the Mexican international wants to extend his stay with the Azzurri until 2026, but it seems like that’s not going to happen, as Napoli’s owner is looking to sell him.

Lozano’s future will be ensured thanks to a fellow Mexican

But even if he might not be able to remain at Napoli, Lozano’s future for the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be ensured, as a Mexican entrepreneur is looking to invest in European soccer and want to have him as his first addition.

Carlos Slim is known for investing in soccer and Mexican athletes, including Sergio “Checo” Pérez, and teams like Real Oviedo in Spanish second flight, but is ready to invest in La Liga now that Atlético Madrid is looking to part ways with Wanda, their main sponsor, according to reports from Diario AS.

Slim has invested in Los Colchoneros in the past, as he was the main constructor of the New Metropolitano, with Atlético owing him over $200 million to pay until 2027, making him the most viable option to sponsor the team, and singing “Chucky” Lozano as their first addition for next season will be his first move.
