Back in 2009, when he was at his best, FIFA placed him above French legend Thierry Henry on the top scorers list of the world. His career was fruitful although he never had the chance to play in a more competitive league than Liga MX.

According to the 2009 FIFA 50 Top, Thierry Henry, who back then used to play for FC Barcelona, was placed 38 on the world, as Ulises Mendívil, who was on his prime playing for Liga MX side CF Pachuca was placed on the 33rd spot.

But now, the former forward has been away from the pitches for over 7 years, and he’s not planning on making a comeback to the soccer industry, as he now runs a seafood restaurant in the Mexican state of Colima.

Ulises Mendívil’s numbers as a professional

Mendívil played most of his life in Liga MX, except for the last year of his professional career, in the 2013-14 season, when he played for Guatemalan side Xelajú MC before retiring. According to Transfermarkt, he scored a total of 51 goals and assisted 11 times over the span of 185 matches.
