Even after Gerardo “Tata” Martino already published the roster that Mexico National Team will have for the upcoming FIFA match window -where El Tri will face Jamaica, Costa Rica and Panamá-, the Argentinean coach is still considering a few other options in case the players on the list can’t attend the call.

It’s no surprise to see players like Julián Araujo, Érick Gutiérrez or Johan Vázquez, who are having a terrific season with their teams and earned their call to play for El Tri again, and in Araujo’s case, to play his official match for Mexico National Team.

But there’s other players that have been working silently to earn a call to El Tri, especially after declining the option of playing for USMNT, something that David Ochoa, goalkeeper from Real Salt Lake, has already done. And Martino might consider calling him soon, maybe even for the upcoming matches.

Why could Martino call David Ochoa?

There’s a high possibility that Alfredo Talavera won’t be part of the final roster as he’s been having muscle soreness, which could open a spot for the Mexican American goalkeeper that trained with Manchester United back in 2018.
