He coached USMNT but now could arrive in Mexico National Team and call Carlos Vela

Mexico National Team will face USMNT on March 24 in Estadio Azteca on a game that will be played as a final by both teams, given that the winner will likely be the second place in CONCACAF Qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as Canada MNT will end first on the table.

But for El Tri it will be a special game, as they have lost three straight matches against USMNT, all of them last year on official tournaments, including the lost finals of CONCACAF Nations League and Gold Cup. Those three defeats, added to the one against Canada, made Gerardo Martino lost the support he gained on his first two years as El Tri coach.

In FMF, they understood that what Mexico National Team needs in order to beat USMNT, is having someone that understands not only how US Soccer works, but also the American mentality and the importance of Mexican players in today’s soccer.

Bob Bradley is being considered to replace Martino in El Tri’s bench, as he knows both US and Mexican soccer and has coached Carlos Vela in the past, a player he’d have again wearing El Tri colors. But to arrive in El Tri, FMF will have to negotiate with Toronto FC, his current club.
