CONCACAF and FIFA have warned on multiple times Mexico National Team and FMF for the anti-gay chants’ fans shout every time El Tri plays, and although they’ve suspended games and vetoed stadiums, nothing seemed to happen until now.

FMF’s president, Yon de Luisa, yesterday said that the people who encourages this chant or violent acts in Mexico National Team’s home games will be vetoed for 5 years, as they’re implementing a new ticket system that will help identify them.

People didn’t like this decision as they claim they don’t really care about the chants, they’re just trying to protect the money that El Tri generates through assistance and sponsorships, and fans are already calling to stop attending El Tri matches to retaliate FMF’s decisions.

Mexico National Team as a brand, is a business that generates $300 million per year, something Yon de Luisa and FMF are trying to protect, especially in a World Cup year, as FIFA already has warned El Tri with taking points off on CONCACAF Qualifiers if the chants keep appearing during the games.
