Mexican soccer player Hirving Lozano found the net again in Napoli's match against Bologna on Matchday 22 of Serie A. With his brace, El 'Chucky' responds to the strong criticism he has received in Italy.

In the 20th minute, Eljif Elmas dribbled down the right flank and his pass to the center of the box found Lozano, who scored at Lukasz Skorupski's left post for the first goal of the match.

Chucky scored his first goal in 2022 and his first goal since October 3, 2021, but due to his long goal drought and his expulsion in the match against Fiorentina for the Coppa Italia, the Italian portal '87TV' charged harshly against the Mexican striker.

Napoli bought him for €40 million in 2019, which makes him one of the five most expensive signings in Napoli's history, but Mexican Hirving Lozano has not met "not even close" to the expectations placed on him and the criticism is merciless in Italy.

Criticism from the Italian media

"Lozano was the guy who was supposed to be the highlight of Carlo Ancelotti's management, who cost 40 million euros and is a total flop. The Mexican was bought to satisfy the former coach because they didn't bring him James Rodriguez and he turned out to be a package (lump). They thought they had signed a player with champion quality and brought one of the bunch, without a single memorable goal at the time," said the media.

"Even more absurd is Lozano's desire to play for a big club, well they say 'before talking, first measure the ball'. He turned out to be a package (lump) next to Manolas (Greek defender) brought in by Ancelotti. For Lozano, the step from champion to imbecile is a short one and we should not expect much in the future because we have already seen what he can give".

The scorer of the goal in Mexico's historic win over Germany at Russia 2018 has scored 23 goals in 103 appearances for Napoli but is even labeled as an "imbecile" for his violent outbursts, fights with coaches, and behavior.

Lozano’s revenge

The match against Bologna represented the Mexican player's return to Serie A after missing the matches against Juventus and Sampdoria due to COVID-19.

The Mexican's second goal came in the first minutes of the second half. In a Napoli counterattack led by Fabián Ruiz, the Spaniard sent the ball into the box for Lozano, who elegantly beat the goalkeeper and sent the ball into the back of the net.
