The comeback that Real Madrid managed to pull of on the last minutes of their visit to Sevilla has brought them closer to La Liga title, as they have 15 more points than FC Barcelona, their closest pursuer with only six games left to be played.

Sevilla controlled the game up until the start of the second half and even had a 2-0 advantage thanks to the free kick goal scored by Ivan Rakitic at 21’ and four minutes later Erik Lamela added the second for the Blanquirrojos.

Vinicius opened the score sheet for Los Merengues at 50’, giving them the confidence to overcome the adverse score. “Nacho” Fernández tied the game at 82 and Karim Benzema scored the final goal that gave Real Madrid the three points.

Although the defeat was upsetting for the Blanquirrojos, there are things to highlight from their performance, including the contributions of Jesús Manuel “Tecatito” Corona, who built the play for Sevilla’s second goal and assisted Lamela.

Ancelotti praise his performance

Carlo Ancelotti praised “Tecatito” Corona’s performance, as he was one of the players, alongside Lamela, who created more danger on the sides, especially on the left side of the pitch, where the Mexico international plays.

But Ancelotti was intelligent enough and knew how to turn the tables once “Tecatito” Corona left the pitch, as he was substituted at 62’ by Ludwig Agustinsson, as Lopetegui decided to close the game instead of keep attacking, a decision that costed them the three points.

But given that they might have to look for a new winger, as Gareth Bale’s future looks away from the Merengue team, “Tecatito” Corona has risen as an option for Real Madrid, especially now that he has experience in La Liga.

Can he arrive at Real Madrid?

Ancelotti knows of the talent that Mexican players have, as he’s been involved in the acquisition of at least two Mexican players: Hirving “Chucky” Lozano in Napoli and Javier “Chicharito” Hernández in Real Madrid. But given the loaded roster that Los Merengues currently have, it looks almost impossible that Corona will join them for next season.
