The coach is the current Liga MX champion and has a first class experience in clubs in Mexico and South America. According to FOX, the contract clause establishes that the coach would be allowed to leave the club if an important offer from a national team arrives. In that case, if an offer from El Tri were to be presented, Pachuca would be forced to delegate the choice to the Uruguayan coach.
