On Thursday night, Mexico National Team faced the first of three games of the World Cup Qualifiers match window against Jamaica, in a game that felt like a final for Gerardo “Tata” Martino, who is still is hanging by a thread, as he still needs to win both games in Estadio Azteca to secure his spot with El Tri.

Hopefully, for the game against Costa Rica on Saturday, Martino has learned the lesson and benches Rogelio Funes Mori, who not only didn’t seem to find any opportunities to shoot, but also was the reason of Jamaica’s goal.

It took “Tata” Martino 71 minutes to understand that Funes Mori was preventing El Tri to play as a team, because as soon as he was substituted, Mexico National Team started looking more dangerous, as it only took Mexico 10 minutes without Rayados’ striker on the pitch to score.

Who could start instead of Funes Mori?

For the second game of the FIFA match window, Martino expects to have Raúl Jiménez back, as he currently is the best forward El Tri has on the roster, given that “Tata” decided to only call Funes Mori and Henry Martín, players that don’t seem to fit what El Tri needs.
