In recent weeks, Azulcremas fans have been wondering if the club's board of directors will not keep their promise to Fernando Ortiz, as the likely candidates to replace Santiago Solari at Club América continue to be named.

Club América already found their new coach, no matter what happens in Liguilla

It is striking that names are still being bandied about as a possible replacement for the former coach of the Aguilas del America, as the club's board had made a promise to the coach.

What promise did Club América's board of directors make to Fernando Ortiz?

According to information published by Marca Claro in mid-April, the board of directors had promised the coach that if he made the team reach the Liguilla, the coach would be sure to stay with the team for the 2022 Apertura Tournament.

And since the team has long since qualified for the Liguilla, everything suggests that the team's board of directors will not keep their promise because they have not yet ratified "Tano" Ortiz

So far, the board has not decided to keep the coach for the next season, so names are still being considered to replace Santiago Solari after his disastrous management of the club.

Probable candidates to replace Santiago Solari at Club América

The club's board has been reviewing possible candidates for the head coaching position at Club América for months and some names have already been mentioned by the press, so the following are the most mentioned.

Ricardo Antonio La Volpe

Undoubtedly one of the Azulcrema fans' favorites, La Volpe is a coach who has made a career in Liga MX and has already won the Mexican soccer title with Atlante, in the 1992-1993 season.

The coach has also been Mexico's national team coach and won the Concacaf Gold Cup with El Tri in 2003. That is why Azulcremas fans want him back at the club, since he has already been head coach of the team, and the last occasion was between 2016 and 2017.

Juan Carlos Osorio

The controversial former coach of the Mexican national team was one who always lived in the eye of the hurricane when he was in charge of El Tri, especially for his changes in the call-ups for international matches.

However, he always supported his permanence in El Tri with results, so he could be a very good option for the Coapa team. But if the Águilas want him, they will have to speed up the pace.

It has been reported that the coach is in Mexico, sounding out his possibilities to coach a club in Liga MX

Antonio Mohamed

The "Turco" is another candidate that has Aguilas fans excited because before becoming coach, the player wore the Azulcrema uniform. But it is because of his time as the club's coach that he would be a great option to replace Solari.

Mohamed managed to live up to expectations and won the Apertura 2014 championship. His departure from the club was controversial, due to differences between the dressing room and management.

But now that the team's management is different, his arrival would be possible, if the Águilas manage to take him away from Atlético Mineiro, the club he currently manages.
