Uriel Antuna scores his first goal as a Cruz Azul player

It seems that Cruz Azul made all the right moves during preseason, not only because Carlos Alberto “Charly” Rodríguez has scored two times in his first two games with La Máquina, but also because Uriel Antuna has assisted previously and now, he finally scored his first goal.

Although they are still looking to add one or two more players, Cruz Azul are real contenders for Liga MX championship, especially after finding the right position to play Antuna, who was irregular with Chivas and his life outside the pitch had more impact than his performances.

The play started at 30', in the midfield, after “Charly” Rodríguez recovered a ball cleared by Monterrey defense. He saw that Antuna was open and placed a through ball that reached him right outside the penalty box after Monterrey defense couldn’t stop it. “El Brujo” kept a level head and after dodging another defender he crossed his shot, leaving Esteban Andrada out of the play.

Although he’s just starting his stint with Cruz Azul, so far, on three games, the 24-year-old right-winger has assisted once -to “Charly” Rodríguez in Cruz Azul’s 1-0 victory against Juárez FC-, and already scored his first goal.
