Cruz Azul are concluding their last moves to reinforce their squad for the Clausura 2022 tournament. Luis Abram, center-back and left-footed defender, will arrive at la Noria to compete with Pablo Aguilar and Julio Dominguez for a spot in the starting lineup. The Peruvian joins the Celestes after the departure of Alexis Peña and Josué Reyes.

Meanwhile, the Argentinean midfielder 'Pol Fernández has been on everyone's lips due to the fact that he traveled to Argentina because of problems with his couple, however, news from Buenos Aires indicates that he has been negotiating with Boca Juniors. However, nothing is confirmed yet.

Luis Abram

Peruvian Luis Abram, 25, is the new player of La Maquina after the Celeste board and Club Granada of Spain agreed to negotiate a one-year loan with an option to buy on Wednesday.

A national team player, Abram Ugarelli plays as a left-sided center back and fulfills the left-handed profile that coach Juan Reynoso, also Peruvian, had requested to reinforce Cruz Azul's backline.

Luis Abram will be announced in the next few hours as Cruz Azul's sixth reinforcement, following the arrival of Uruguayan Christian Tabó and Mexicans Uriel Antuna, Alejandro Mayorga, Carlos Rodríguez, and Erik Lira.

‘Pol’ Fernández

Álvaro Dávila clarified Cruz Azul's position regarding the rumors of the possible arrival of Guillermo 'Pol' Fernández to Boca Juniors and stated that they expect the player to return to training with the Celestial Machine on January 24.

"This whole transfer to Boca Juniors is something that was born there, with you," the Cruz Azul president told ESPN Argentina's microphones.

"The only reference we have is that 'Pol' Fernandez asked us for permission, especially to the coach, to be absent due to a family problem. He did not specify what kind. He was given special permission to support him because as he put it, it was a pretty intense family drama."

Álvaro Dávila said: "Up to that point, that is our knowledge of the situation. Afterward, we began to receive news from Argentina that he was negotiating with Boca… To tell the truth, Boca has not made any formal official offer; they have spoken to some of our directors to say that there is some interest, but that's as far as it goes. And well, we are waiting for 'Pol' to return on the 24th".

Álvaro Dávila was puzzled by the behavior of his Xeneize counterpart: "I find it strange that Boca, being a club of that size, with that prestige and seriousness, has not shown itself in an official-formal and serious manner".
