Club América didn’t have the start in Clausura 2022 that everyone was expecting. Not only because Santiago Baños wasn’t able to acquire the players that Santiago Solari requested, but also because Las Águilas have only earned one point after a 1-1 draw with Club Puebla on the opening match.

But since Baños arrived in Coapa as Club América chairman, they still have to win any title, as their last Liga Mx championship was back in 2018. Solari arrived in América set to make them champions of every tournament they were part of, but after a year in Las Águilas bench, he hasn’t been able to access semifinals in Liguilla.

Some players that used to be regulars in América since their arrival, like Bruno Valdez, have slowly been relegated from the starting team and are growing tired of Solari and his speech that hasn’t helped them to return to a final, which is why Valdez is ready to leave El Nido.

Where could Valdez continue his career?

Given that Valdez has lost his place in América’s starting XI and Solari has even considered sending him to play with the U-20 squad, the Paraguayan defender is looking to leave Las Águilas, but with the transfer window already closed, his only option for now is MLS. Reports suggest that the new MLS Franchise, Charlotte FC, are interested in acquiring him for the upcoming season.
