For Clausura 2022, Club América are having one of their worst participations in Liga MX, at least since the short tournaments were installed in 1996, as they currently stand 15 after just one victory and one draw in five games.
Is Santiago Baños’ future in Las Águilas hanging by a thread?
The bad streak in which they currently are involves everyone in the club, from the chairman to the players and the coach, and even if the most criticizes so far has been Santiago Solari, who hasn’t found an identity for the group he coaches, it’s true that some of the players are way below the level needed to play in a team like Las Águilas.
But according to Christian Martinoli, the player that should retire not only from Club América but also from Mexico National Team is Guillermo Ochoa, who’s career seems to be free falling as he once was a wall that prevented anything that approached his goal but now is mostly known for his mistakes.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper debuted almost 20 years ago, when Liga MX clubs still played in Copa Libertadores. Since then, he’s played in five different teams, although Club América is the only team he’s played with in Liga MX.
In Club América they already know who will replace Santiago Solari
