Since Santiago Baños arrived in Club América in 2017, Las Águilas have won just one Liga MX title, in Apertura 2018, showing that he hasn’t been up to the standards that Club América needs, as he’s entering his sixth year with Las Águilas on one of their worst streaks in recent years.

Las Águilas already have Solari’s replacement if he keeps failing

The Azulcremas have won just one game and draw another in the 5 matches disputed in Clausura 2022, standing at the bottom of Liga MX table, far from what they are used to. Although Santiago Solari is the most criticized for their current performances, Baños is the one hanging by a thread now.

Emilio Azcárraga knows that he can’t wait much longer to replace him if the bad results keep coming, which is why he already has Baños’ replacement, and he even works in Club América, although they’re waiting to see if thing start going better in the next couple of weeks before taking a decision.

Who is Santiago Baños’ replacement?

According to reports, Diego Ramírez is the chosen one to replace Santiago Baños as Club América’s chairman. Ramírez currently works in Las Águilas as Sporting Director after being part of the coaching staff of Miguel Herrera for a while and then coaching El Tri U-20 in 2019.
