With the 2022 Apertura closer than it seems, Cruz Azul's board of directors must find a coach as soon as possible so that the players, having finished their vacations, can report to their new boss.

One of the options is in Spain, and we are talking about Jémez, who coached Cruz Azul in 2017, and maintains a positive image among the Cementero fans and many fans consider that the Spaniard would be a good option. Currently, Paco is in charge of UD Ibiza in Spain's Second Division, but in the past, he has left open the possibility of returning to Liga MX.

Jémez led Cruz Azul in the Clausura 2017 and Apertura 2017, in the first tournament he only obtained 21 points and failed to qualify for the Liguilla, however, in the following tournament, La Máquina improved and obtained 27 points to qualify for the Liguilla, however, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals. At the end of the 2017 Apertura, Cruz Azul and Jemez went down different paths.

Ferreti and Mohamed also in the running for La Máquina

The 'Turco' is one of the most requested names among La Máquina's fans thanks to the Argentinean's successful track record in Mexican football. Mohamed has won three Liga MX titles with three different clubs (Xolos, América and Rayados).

This is not the first time that Mohamed sounds to take the reins of Cruz Azul, already in 2019 he was close to arriving at the institution, however, negotiations did not prosper. Tony' is currently managing Atlético Mineiro in Brazil and his hiring would not be easy for the Celeste team.

Regarding 'Tuca', one of the most important coaches in the history of Mexican soccer, he is without a club after ending his relationship with FC Juárez. The Brazilian-born coach had a glorious period with Tigres and Cruz Azul fans consider him to be the best option.
