Club América lost again in Clausura 2022, this time against CF Pachuca in a game where it became evident that the players have lost all of their confidence and were erratic for most of the game, although during the second half it seemed that they had a small chance of tying the match.

Santiago Baños’ future with Club América is hanging by a thread

Las Águilas haven’t had a single clean sheet in Clausura 2022, and they’ve received at least two goals on every single match except for the opening match against Club Puebla, when they tied 1-1. But the worst part is that the players look uncomfortable and even argued during the game, a clear sign of a crisis.

Emilio Azcárraga and Santiago Baños will wait until the next week, when Las Águilas face Pumas on the first Clásico of the season, to see if Solari can turn things around. If he doesn’t manage to have a positive performance, América already has the coach that could replace him.

Who is going to be Solari’s replacement?

Azcárraga is ready to bring someone that doesn’t scare easily when the spotlight is on him, which is why they’re interested in Andrea Pirlo, as he currently is a free agent after his stint with Juventus ended in the summer of 2021.
