How many times did Pumas UNAM play in a Concachampions final and which ones did they win?

Counting the final against Seattle, Pumas UNAM has now reached five finals in the history of the Concachampions. This is the second time with the new format, having previously reached the final three times with the previous format.

The Pumas won for the first time in 1980, where there was not a match with another team, but with two others in a three-team triangular that had them victorious over Robinhood from Suriname and Pumas U.N.A.H. After that, the following games were two-legged matches against one team.

In the 1982 edition, the "Universitarios" tied goalless against Robinhood but then beat them 3-2 at the Olímpico Universitario to win their second crown. Then came 1989, which began with a 1-1 draw against Pinar del Río of Puerto Rico and then a 3-1 win in Mexico to lift the third title.

Lastly, in 2005, Deportivo Saprissa beat Pumas 2-0 in Costa Rica and then Pumas won 2-1 in the second leg, but the aggregate score was not enough, making it the only final that Pumas has ever lost.

Pumas will be looking for its fourth Concachampions title

Andres Lillini's team could win its fourth title in this competition this Wednesday and thus put an end to a drought of more than 10 years without winning titles at local and international level.

The second leg of the Concachampions final will be played in Seattle at Lumen Field, after the U.S. team finished with a better score than Pumas in the tournament.
