Brayan Angulo to leave La Máquina, how much money will Cruz Azul save?

Santi Giménez's representative, Matías Bunge, acknowledged in an interview with ESPN Digital that "he will not change teams in Mexico" and if he does leave, it will be to Europe, where teams such as Espanyol of Barcelona are following the young striker.

Santi has six goals between the Apertura 2021 and Clausura 2022, but in the current tournament he has lost his starting role and in the last few games he has come on as a substitute.

Can his departure to Espanyol be materialized?

"Today they are following up with him. That's all," said Bunge, who represents other players such as Jesús 'Tecatito' Corona, Erick Aguirre, Víctor 'Pocho' Guzmán and Erick Gutiérrez.

"He is a player who is being followed up like other players, at this moment there is nothing more than that", added the Argentinean. The player's representative was clear in mentioning that Santiago is focused on Cruz Azul and pointed out that in case there is any offer for the player, it must be analyzed by the player and the Cementeros’ board.

"It's not that he has to leave now or never. Whenever it is, as long as it is good for his development it will be analyzed and then the appropriate decisions will be made with the player and the club," he said.

Santiago has no longer played as a starter

The last time Giménez was a starter was in Round 9 against Puebla and the score was 3-1 in favor of La Franja. Giménez has two goals and one assist in 316 minutes in the tournament.

For their part, Espanyol, who have been following the evolution of 'Chaquito', have plans to sign Joselu Matu, an Alavés striker who finishes his contract in the summer and will join the Blanquiazules on a free contract.

According to Transfermarkt, the player is valued at 4.4 million dollars. The player's contract expires in the middle of 2023, so he could start negotiating with any other team as of January and thus emulate what was done by Orbelín Pineda, who at the beginning of the year was signed by Celta de Vigo and did not renew his contract with La Máquina.
