The sporting director of Chivas de Guadalajara, Ricardo Peláez, has already made his decision some time ago about the new coach of the first team and this Wednesday he formally submitted it to the leadership of Grupo Chivas-Omnilife for approval, so the only step left to be taken is to make the official announcement, which would be published in the next few hours.

Sports analysts blast Pelaez and say Cadena should stay at Chivas. What else did they say about the manager?

The Rebaño Sagrado's main squad broke ranks on Monday and is enjoying a few days of rest before reporting back to the Verde Valle sports complex on June 1 to undergo routine medical examinations and begin an extensive preseason, which will surely begin under the command of the new head coach on the Rojiblanco bench.

The Chivas sports management, led by Ricardo Peláez, interviewed up to five candidates for the position that Ricardo Cadena held on an interim basis and fulfilled in a stellar manner by receiving a team in 14th place, which catapulted to sixth place to overwhelm Pumas UNAM in the playoffs and bid farewell in the Clasico Tapatío against Atlas in the quarterfinals of the Liguilla of this Clausura 2022.

Who did Peláez choose?

Pelaez, who is considering Cadena's continuity following the players' request, was dazzled by Uruguayan Diego Aguirre in a round of interviews that also included Argentines Sebastian Beccacece, Antonio Mohamed, Andres Lillini (Pumas), and Peruvian Juan Reynoso (former Cruz Azul).

The former U-20 Uruguayan national team coach and responsible for training stars such as: Abel Hernández (Atlético de San Luis), Nicolás Lodeiro (Seattle Sounders), Sebastián Coates (Sporting de Portugal), and more recently, Federico Valverde, Real Madrid's jewel, is the Rojiblanco manager's candidate, with whom the only thing missing was a salary figure to close the deal.

León Iturbide, the journalist for Rebaño Pasión, said exclusively that "the plan is to announce the head coach this week, but not because Ricardo Peláez does not know who to appoint, but because the Chivas-Omnilife Committee must give the go-ahead".

"The announcement would be made in the next few hours if the top management agrees with the proposal". He alleged that "it has nothing to do with whether the chosen one is Cadena, Aguirre or whoever, the decision must be endorsed by the Board of Directors".
