Liga MX 2022: how did Club América fare?

La Franja is having one of the best seasons on their history, as they already broke the records of most points after 8 rounds with 18, and they also are the only team that remains unbeaten, as they’ve won five games and tied three more.

Larcamón has known how to plan a different strategy for every single game Club Puebla has played so far, and with that in mind, he’s been able to overcome the challenges that have presented, like the 2-0 partial defeat against Chivas or the 1-0 against FC Juárez that ended in a draw.

The most surprising thing about the season Los Camoteros are having is that they are the roster with the lowest market value according to Transfermarkt, while Monterrey is the highest valued and Club América the third highest valued, although they both stand 17 and 18 respectively, at the bottom of the table.

Las Águilas are after Larcamón

Club América want to have the Argentine coach in their bench for the next season, which is why they are in conversations with Larcamón, who has said multpiple times that he’s focused on the present and his future will be discussed in May, after Liguilla is over.

According to TVC Deportes, they already have a pre-agreement and that both parties have been leaving hints in the past days about it, although Las Águilas will have to wait until Clausura 2022 is over and pay the $900,000 release clause on his contract, which is why they only hired an interim coach.

What does La Franja have to say?

In Puebla, they’re not going to wait until a bigger club comes and steals Larcamón from them, which is why, according to sports journalist David Medrano, they’re already negotiating his renewal for at least another year.

The bright side for La Franja is the ownership is happy with his performance and that Larcamón is happy with the club, which is why he agreed to start negotiations. If they succeed, his contract with Puebla will be until 2023 and the release clause will increase up to $2 million, a sum that teams will think twice before approaching the Argentine coach.
