In an interview with the sports media, the player finally put an end to the rumors about the former coach's departure from the club.

Memo Ochoa has already revealed who was really responsible for Solari's departure from the Águilas del América

According to the interview that the Club América goalkeeper gave to the sports media, the real people responsible for Solari's departure were the members of the team's board of directors

He also emphasized that the media always want to hold the players responsible for this type of situation, so the Azulcrema goalkeeper shifted all the responsibility for Santiago Solari's departure from the club to Santiago Baños, the team's sports president.

The goalkeeper was emphatic that Solari's departure from the club did not happen because the players decided to do so and explained:

"Those complicated streaks, yes they start to generate a bit of confusion within the group because the results do not come. But not that the group breaks up, because that has never existed, and this issue of making the bed, at no time. We (players) are the ones who least want to be in that situation".

In this way, the Azulcrema goalkeeper and international with the Mexican national soccer team put an end to the rumors that the club's players "made a bed" for the coach.

The term "made a bed" is commonly used in soccer when a team's players decide to deliberately play poorly and lose matches in order to pressure the team's board to fire a coach.

Ochoa did accuse Solari of not delivering results

In the same interview, the goalkeeper acknowledged that the coach and his game plan were not producing results in the 2022 campaign

"In a short tournament, like Mexican soccer, and in a club like América, the times are shorter than others. And I think we understood that in time and we rescued this tournament in time. Here we always have to fight for the championship, but what we have achieved has been very good: from being last to qualifying directly".

The club had an irregular start to the tournament due to Solari's management and it was not until Round 9 of the tournament that the board of directors tired of the Argentinean coach, after the defeat they suffered against Víctor Manuel Vucetich's Monterrey

That was Solari's last match and at the end of the match, the board of directors announced his dismissal. Later, with the arrival of Fernando Ortiz, the team returned to winning ways, thanks to which the squad is now in the Liguilla.
