Amaury Vergara needs to sell Chivas, he wants to sell one of their most promising players

Although for now El Rebaño stands 9 in Clausura 2022 with 12 points after ten rounds, the performances of Chivas every match are far from what is expected from a team with the history that Chivas has, as they rely in indivdualities to try and save at least a point instead of playing together.

The players usually look lost and don’t have a clear idea to follow throughout the 90 minutes, a translation on the pitch from what Michel Leaño contributes to El Rebaño: mere experimentation instead of a lack of a solid long-term plan.

Chivas followers are tired of the same disappointing results and mediocre performances, which is why after the Clásico Nacional decided to chant “Fuera Leaño”, but they were silenced by the stadium sound, as a hint that his dismissal won’t happen.

Why does Vergara insist on maintaining him?

It’s clear that for as long as Marcelo Michel Leaño remains in Chivas’ dugout, they will be far from contending for Liga MX, which is why no one understands why Amaury Vergara insists on keeping Leaño in the dugout.

But according to the same Vergara, who said during an interview with ESPN, Michel Leaño will finish Clausura 2022 as Chivas coach. It will be over the summer when they’ll analyze what happened during the tournament and decide if he remains in Chivas or they look for a new coach.

Vergara washes his hands of Michel Leaño’s arrival

Although Vergara was close friends with Marcelo Michel Leaño before he assumed the coaching role in Chivas, and that he’s the main responsible for promising the Mexican coach his stay in El Rebaño’s bench for at least a season, he also said that he wasn’t responsible for promoting him.

In the same interview, Vergara said that he’s not the one taking the sporting decisions inside Chivas, leaving the responsibility to Ricardo Peláez, who is the sporting director of El Rebaño, an easy target giving that Peláez has lost his voice in Chivas.
