Guillermo Ochoa could be punished in Club América for his mistakes against Pachuca

The 35-year-old striker helped Atlético to become La Liga champions on the first season he wore the Colchoneros colors, after joining them from FC Barcelona for a transfer fee of only $10.6 million, given that he was no longer wanted by the Blaugrana management.

But now that he’s become a free agent, several clubs around the world have reached out to him to try and convince him to play for them for the 2022-23 season, although “El Pistolero” has informed that he’ll take a decision once he plays the friendly games with Uruguay over the next month.

Club América is one of the clubs interested in the Uruguayan international, as they need a new striker, and they know that signing a player his size could be the statement that they need to return to the front pages of Liga MX.

Azcárraga, the main interested in his addition

According to reports from Jorge Ramos from ESPN, Emilio Azcárraga is deeply invested in the acquisition of the now-former Atlético Madrid striker, and that he already sent an entourage to Spain to start negotiations with Suárez.

Azcárraga will present the project himself in the United States after Urugay faces Mexico National Team on June 2, as he knows that a thing that América has been missing for the past decade is an addition of the quality of Suárez.

Even if his signing could happen for free, as there wouldn’t be another team involved in the negotiation, Las Águilas not only will have to present an attractive project for Suárez’s intentions, but also, they’ll have to offer a good salary to convince him to join them.

Will Suárez play for Club América?

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano and Suárez himself during an interview with El Larguero, he’s received offers from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, among others but his mind currently is set to remain in Europe, where his intention is to keep playing at a high level for the World Cup, as he even will decide to play for a team that participates in Champions League.
