The new Liga MX 2022 rumor that is gaining momentum every day is that Club America is dreaming of Agustin Canobbio, the MVP of Uruguayan soccer who just won the tournament in his country, with Peñarol.

The 23-year-old promising youngster obtained the majority of the votes cast by the Technical Team, captains and coaches of the clubs, journalists, and the general public, to win the award for the Best Player of the Uruguayan Championship

Although there is still no confirmation from the Azulcrema board or the player, it is known that the Aguilas are already sounding out the player, who is also wanted by Boca Juniors

The right-sided midfielder could fit well in the game plan of Santiago Solari, Club America's coach, as he can bring depth to the attack, and with his youth, he could easily free himself from the rivals' coverage.

Agustin Canobbio's numbers

The young promise of Uruguayan soccer was born in Montevideo and began his career in Fenix, and then arrived at Peñarol, where he finished consolidating his career.

In that team he played 66 matches between local and international competitions, scoring 7 goals, according to Transfermrkt.

He also won a 2018 Uruguayan Super Cup and the Uruguayan Championship that same year.

In 2019 the club decided to renew his contract, although it ends on December 31 this year, which would make it even easier for him to reach Liga MX.

How much would it cost Club America to bring in the Uruguayan?

The 23-year-old right-winger is currently valued at 1.20 million euros, however, given that his contract with Peñarol ends this December 31, his arrival at the Coapa club could be a bargain

It is speculated that his salary could be in the range of over $43,000 per year, which is what he was earning at Penarol, but if America is to compete with Boca for the young talent, they could increase their offer.

How have America fans taken the possible arrival of the player?

As always in these cases, the media tweeted the information and the opinions of the club's fans have not been long in coming.

Although on this occasion what most worries Americanistas is not the arrival of this player, but the time in which he could arrive

So far, what is most noticeable in the fans' tweets is that they feel that the club's board has taken too long to confirm its new signings

Although the fact that he was chosen as the MVP of the Uruguayan tournament fills with hope the most optimistic fans who see in this player the possibility that the team can score important goals in the decisive moments

Something that did not happen in the Apertura 2021, where Pumas UNAM eliminated Club America with an epic comeback

Canobbio  joins the list of probable reinforcements who have been rumored to join the Coapa club for the Clausura 2022.

Along with his name, there have also been those of players such as Joao Rojas, Joaquín Montecinos, and Paul Arriola, but so far only two reinforcements have been confirmed for the club.

One is Diego Valdes, and the other is Jonathan Dos Santos. If Canobbio's  arrival is confirmed, the club could satisfy its ever-demanding public in terms of the number of reinforcements.

Will Agustin Canobbio be the reinforcement Club America needs to get back on track?
