There is a strong rumor for Liga MX 2022 that Chivas and 3 other teams want to take Jürgen Damm from MLS, where he currently plays for Atlanta United FC. These 3 teams are Santos, Atlas and FC Juarez.

This move would undoubtedly be the best for the career of the player whose development in Major League Soccer has stagnated, even though as a free agent, the player receives an outstanding salary.

According to ESPN Digital, a couple of these clubs have already contacted Atlanta United FC to learn about the player's condition, to bring him back to Liga MX for the 2022 Clausura.

The player has a two-year contract with "The Five Stripes", and while there is still no official confirmation from these teams or the player, it is known that the Damm wants to return to Mexico for a reason.

Why does Jürgen Damm want to return to Liga MX?

The main reason why the Mexican wants to return is that Damm wants more prominence on the field to be considered by Gerardo Martino for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

This is according to sources consulted by Mexican media, who also claim that with the departure of Uriel Antuna from Chivas, the conditions would be right for the player's return.

The second major reason why the player would leave MLS and his current club in Atlanta would be that the player has been losing the prominence that characterized him in Aztec soccer

In his stay with Atlanta United FC, Jürgen Damm has only played 27 games in all competitions and has scored 1 goal and provided 4 assists. The worst part is that in 2021 he only played one game with his team

How much would Mexican clubs have to pay to bring Damm in?

Mexican media speculate that the cost of the departure of the "Flash" would not exceed 5 million dollars, although he arrived as a free agent and the MLS club did not have to pay for the transfer of the Mexican.

The player signed an agreement with Atlanta United FC to facilitate his departure in case a team of his interest is looking for him.

So Chivas, Santos, Atlas, or FC Juarez would not have to invest so much money to bring the player back.

However, it will not be until negotiations begin that the real amount of the transfer will be known.

On the other hand, Damm's salary in MLS is currently 1.6 million dollars. If, for example, Chivas manages to bring him back, the player would become one of the highest-paid players for the "Rebaño Sagrado".

According to Mexican media reports, Damm would be willing to make a sacrifice and accept a reduction in his salary to return to Mexican soccer

If this possibility materializes, Chivas, Santos, Atlas, and FC Juarez could bring the creative player back and give a big boost to their teams for the Clausura 2022.

The player's speed, dribbling and, above all, intelligence on the field would give him prominence in Liga MX, if clubs bet on him and bring him back.
