A trade between two teams is in jeopardy, as Liga MX 2022 rumors that Carlos Rodriguez has put his arrival at Cruz Azul in doubt have gained momentum in the last day.

It is expected that in the course of the afternoon of this Tuesday, December 28, or tomorrow, December 29, there will be an official response from the player

According to journalist Axel Solís, from El Heraldo Monterrey, the player is still not sure he wants to leave the team where he trained as a professional.

The negotiation between both teams is at a standstill because the Monterrey youth player has not yet said yes to the exchange, which would bring Luis Romo to the Nuevo León club

Although some media outlets claim that the player has just said yes, this has not yet been confirmed by either of the institutions or by "Charly" Rodríguez himself.

It is so important that the player says yes to the exchange that even Carlos Vela, Monterrey's sporting director, and Duilio Davino, the sporting president, have spoken to the player to get him to accept.

They even had to call the club's president, Jose Gonzalez Ornelas, to see if the player would accept the offer, but apparently, that did not happen.

The reasons why Carlos Rodriguez would not want to go to Cruz Azul

The player had told the Mexican media a few days ago that he was waiting for 2022 to arrive so he could participate with Rayados de Monterrey in the FIFA Club World Cup

"It's a big year, great things are coming, so I have to prepare myself, to be able to be at the height of every situation. In the end, the important thing is the Club World Cup, the League, and my dream is to be in the World Cup," said the Monterrey youth player.

This is intended to secure his place in the team that will seek to represent Mexico in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

He had even thanked the team's coach, Javier Aguirre, for the fact that there were no changes in the team's roster, as he knows that this is uncommon in the winter transfer window.

"(Aguirre) has full confidence in us, the group can achieve great things to win titles and that should also serve as motivation for us, and to regain confidence on the field," said Rodriguez.

However, the plans of Monterrey and Cruz Azul's management have frustrated the plans of the player, who, when questioned by the Mexican media on the subject, could only reply: "I'm not talking"

Another important factor why the player does not want to leave Monterrey is that his family is from there, so he would resent the change from Monterrey to Mexico City, where Cruz Azul has its headquarters.

In recent days, a video became famous in which the media interviewed the player, who affirms that if he leaves the club, what he will miss most will be the affection of the people
