On Thursday night, Atlas FC received CF Pachuca for the first leg of the final of Clausura 2022, a game that Los Rojinegros ended up beating 2-0 Pachuca with goals of Luis “Hueso” Reyes during the first half, and Julián Quiñones with a last-minute goal.

Commentator downplays Atlas vs Pachuca final but had to swallow his words

Atlas is one step closer to join Pumas and Club León as the only teams that have won back-to-back Liga MX titles since the short tournaments were established back in 1996, although that didn’t influence Quiñones now that one of the big teams of Mexican soccer is after him.

Julián Quiñones was recently acquired by Atlas after exercising the buy option on his contract given that he was loaned from Tigres, team that Los Rojinegros eliminated in semifinals, but Atlas know that if they sell him now, they can earn more than what they paid for.

Which team wants to acquire Quiñones?

According to reports from Frecuencia Deportiva, Club América are seriously interested in acquiring the Colombian striker, as Las Águilas have been lacking a forward that can score consistently and be the difference on the pitch, something that Henry Martín nor Federico Viñas have been able to do.

Reports from RG La Deportiva, Quiñones doesn’t see with bad eyes playing for América, as he’s looking to transcend in Liga MX with a bigger team if a good offer arrives, as it will be a better showcase to display his talent. If América were to acquire him, they will have to pay at least $6 million.
