Club América is still in looking for new player to add to their roster roster, even though Clausura 2022 already started and there’s only one week left for the winter window transfer. But after last weekend’s exhibition, it’s clear that Las Águilas need to strengthen their offense.

They’ve been linked to multiple players, including Juan Ferney Otero from Santos Laguna, but reports suggest that it wasn’t only rumors, as Otero wasn’t part of Pedro Caixinha’s squad in Santos 4-1 defeat against Necaxa in round 3 of Clausura 2022.
When asked about his absence on the pitch, Caixinha answered that “rumors might be true”, but declined to talk more in-depth about Otero’s current status with the club. “There’s stuff that has to be handle inside the club, but I’m not the one who has the information you’re seeking.”

The 26-year-old Colombian right-winger arrived in Santos a year ago out of Ligue 1 side Amiens SC. So far, he’s played a total of 46 games for Los Laguneros. On that span of time, he’s managed to score 5 goals and assist 4 times. His current market value is set at $3.4 million.
