Without Roger Martínez on the pitch, as he was suspended after getting sent off in the opening match of Clausura 2022 against Club Puebla, it was obvious that Las Águilas are in need of another striker, as Henry Martín hasn’t been the answer that Solari needs.

Now, reports suggest that Club América is actively trying to close a deal with Cádiz CF striker Iván Alejo, someone who already was linked with Las Águilas in the current winter transfer window, although they’ll have to wait for Cádiz’s response.

Who is Iván Alejo?

Alejo is a 26-year-old right-winger that has been part of Cádiz since the 2020-21 season, although he played the 2019-20 season with them on a loan. He joined out of Getafe on a permanent move worth $2.3 million and is under contract until 2025. His current market value is set at $900,000, an affordable price for Las Águilas.
